Our Leadership

Trustee Board of Directors

HomeTrust Care is 100% owned by its employees as part of its commitment to being an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

The Trustee Board provides strategic oversight and prioritises stakeholder engagement at the highest level of the EOT structure. They receive regular reports covering financial performance, compliance and quality, but do not manage day-to-day operations. This remains the responsibility of the Registered Home Manager for each of the individual homes and the executive teams of HomeTrust Care. The Trust is governed by a Trust Deed that outlines it legal responsibilities, which are set out in the legislation governing Employee Ownership Trusts.

The EOT places staff and responsiveness to residents at the heart of the organisation’s management structure, and is designed to support long-term business stability, strengthen employee engagement, and encourage participation in decision-making and quality improvement across all homes.

The aim of the EOT is to create an inclusive and learning-focused workplace culture: one that values listening to both staff and residents, and includes staff representation in all levels of decision-making. This model, supported by the UK Government, provides a secure and sustainable alternative to traditional business sales or management buyouts. It removes uncertainty about the future for staff and residents in a constantly-changing social care environment.

By strengthening workforce engagement and ownership of the home, the EOT will promote continuity of service provision and ensure that all staff in the home are focused on service quality, staff development and resident wellbeing.
